Mastering, Mixing & Production Services

  • Mastering
Mastering is the final process of preparing your track for distribution. Other than providing an appropriate file format for delivering the music to digital distributors or CD manufacturers, mastering is the very last sonic enhancement a track will go through. Depending on the engineer, the process can have a substantial effect on the final sound of your production. Using sophisticated waveform analysis software, EQ & compression we address any imbalances in the mix, optimise the volume, make sure the audio is free of any glitches, and then write it to the final format that will be used to store and deliver the master to others - usually a 16 Bit/44.1 kHz WAV file.
  • Stem Mastering
Stem mastering is similar to mastering, except we use summed stems from your mix instead of just one stereo mix down. An example of this would be sending us your track grouped as instruments in one stereo file, and another stereo file containing your vocals. This gives the engineer more opportunities to make adjustments to the music and can help meet our goal of getting your music sounding the very best it possibly can.

Other options include sending us your track summed to Drums, Bass, Synth/Instrument, and Vocal stems. The more stems, the more options. These stems would be coming from an *already* mixed track, just summed to separate stereo audio files.
  • Mixing
Mixing is the process of summing multitrack recordings into a single product. The mixdown is the most substantial part of the post production process, and will ultimately define your sound. EQ & compression are used to adjust individual tracks in your song, along with audio effects such as reverb, delay, chorus and other dimension techniques to blend or "glue" your tracks together. Most importantly, altering the volume & using automation, the mixing engineer will literally mix your multitrack recording into a single mono, stereo or surround sound track.

  • Basic
  • $35
  • 1 Revision
  • 1 Track

The Basic Plan is designed for simple audio tasks or the typical artist on a budget. Perfect for bands with complex multitrack sessions that need a bounce, or a vocalist/rapper that needs a cost effective way to make sure their final track meets industry standards. A common job most bands require is getting their live-tracked song cleaned up and optomised for websites/press kits.

*complex mixing tasks may have to be adjusted to the Standard Plan if the project requires it (excessive amount of tracks)

  • Standard
  • $60
  • 3 Revisions
  • 1 Track

The Standard is our bread and butter plan for any in depth mastering (or mixing) job. Most professionals will be satisfied with the 3 revision limit, as after our initial master there are usually only a few adjustments, if any, that artists want made to their track. We gaurantee you an optimised audio production bounced to any deliverable formats you need, whether it is a high resolution 24 Bit Mastered for iTunes WAV or a compressed MP3. We also offer a lifetime of digital archive storage for any project we work with.

The differences between our Standard and Basic plans are simply the level of engagement with an artist and amount of time we can spend on a project, reflected in the amount of revisions given for each plan.
